Our Story
VNet vision began in 1997 at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez, born from a powerful vision: a secure, intelligent digital world that seamlessly connects people, knowledge, and innovation.
In 2001, this vision captured the attention of the University of Houston's College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. The college adopted the project, established its first dedicated IT department, and funded the development of VNet's first version.
By 2003, the vision was a reality. VNet launched to UH students, faculty, and staff, delivering a unified online experience, including cloud collaboration, secure communication, and integrated digital tools, that was years ahead of its time. To bring this groundbreaking platform beyond the university, VNet World Corp. was founded in 2005.
In the two decades that followed, while the world caught up to our initial concept, we were perfecting the architecture for what came next. Now, in 2025, the technology, infrastructure, and strategic partnerships are finally in place to execute that original dream on a global scale. Today, VNet stands as an intelligent, hyper-secure cloud platform built to store, manage, and protect the information that matters most to individuals and organizations worldwide.
